At Sunset Cove Goldendoodles, we understand that finding the perfect puppy can feel daunting, especially with concerns about ethical practices in breeding and the well-being of the animals involved. That’s why we’d love to share our story, rooted in love, integrity, and a deep commitment to each puppy's health and happiness.

Eighteen years ago, my wife Deanne and I began breeding with our beloved Labrador Retriever, Daisy. As a physician, Deanne saw firsthand how dogs can enrich people’s lives, and we wanted to create a breeding program that honored that bond. From day one, our goal has been to breed responsibly, ensuring that every puppy is healthy, well-socialized, and ready to thrive in their new homes.

In 2017, when I retired from teaching, this became a passion for me. We chose Goldendoodles for their intelligence, gentle nature, and hypoallergenic and non-shedding coats, as Deanne was allergic to dogs and also wanted a medical alert dog for health reasons. Our friends Beth and Joe Robles and I joined together and founded Beechwood Goldendoodles, and later we rebranded as Sunset Cove Goldendoodles in 2024 to mark our expanding branches. Caroline, our daughter, joined us full-time, bringing her medical background and hands-on experience.

 

Our family’s love for animals and deep-rooted values have shaped everything we do, from the care we provide to each puppy, to the lifelong support we offer our puppy families.
